3 Days-2 Nights: Culture and Nature in San Roque de Cumbaza

In this experience we will combine culture with hiking in nature.
We will carry out a traditional pottery workshop, walk to the Huacamaillo waterfall and visit Lamas.


Itinerary:

Destiny:                                             San Roque-Lamas

Departure:                                         Tarapoto

Departure time:                                Approximately 8:00 a.m.

Return time:                                      Approximately 06 p.m.

Route Plan (From 2 person)

Day 1: Traditional pottery course

  • Walk to Petrona's house and experience a traditional Quechua lamista setting. (1 hour walk)
  • Basic pottery course at Petrona's house.
  • Time to return to San Roque, time to cool off and bathe in the Cumbaza River.
  • Lunch
  • Learn about local products like coffee, sacha inchiq and more by visiting local houses.
  • Stay for the night.


Day 2: Huacamaillo Waterfall.

  • Breakfast
  • Short motorized taxi ride to San Antonio.
  • 2-hour walk - crossing small rivers to the Huacamaillo Waterfall.
  • Picnic lunch in nature.
  • Once back in San Antonio we can taste some homemade wine from the town.
  • Returning to San Roque.


Day 3: Lamas Province

  • Breakfast
  • Visiting the Chankas museum
  • Castillo de Lamas' where you will see views over the town of Lamas.
  • Wayku native neighborhood.
  • Lunch in the town of Lamas.
  • Trip back to Tarapoto end of the experience.

Price per person: $280 USD

Incluid: Tour leader english speaker, transportation during the tour (Tarapoto-San Roque-Lamas) , lodging in San Roque (2 nights), feeding (breakfast (2), Lunch (3) ) , traditional ceramic , visit to see local farmers house , entrance to Huacamaillo waterfall, entrance to Chanka Museum and the Castillo of Lamas.
