Pacaya Samiria Reserve Trip (From 2 people and up)

Tours in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve from Yurimaguas are out of the ordinary. You will find that our tours are much less commercial, crowded and explored than the neighboring popular tourist destination: Iquitos.

What makes this tour such a genuine and special experience is our true men of the jungle: the tour guides. With their spears ready to catch a fish for dinner on the way. Yurimaguas is a two-hour drive from Tarapoto. The first night you will stay at the Hotel Río Huallaga. A very comfortable hotel where you can prepare yourself before starting your great adventure in the wild jungle.

Route Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Tarapoto, transfer to the city of Yurimaguas.

• Accommodation in Rio Huallaga hotel.
• Visit the local market.
• Returning to the hostel.
• Dinner.

Day 2: Lagunas

• Departure from Yurimaguas to Lagunas at 5:00 am by speedboat for 3:30 hours where you will be received by our local guide.
• Then we will have breakfast and then we will take our motorcycle to the SERNANP checkpoint 30 minutes away where we will register our entry.
• Then we will board a canoe with the guide and navigate the main rivers while we appreciate the panorama of the reserve..
• Observation of palm trees, medicinal plants, birds and sloth bear.
• Arrival at one of our shelters located in Poza Gloria – overnight.

Day 3: Pacaya Samiria

• After breakfast we continue our trip to the Armanayacu creek where we can appreciate the color of the water and where we will see birds, monkeys, river otters, water turtles and other animal species.
• We will arrive at the pantheon camp where we will have lunch.
• After lunch jungle hike
• Night excursion to appreciate alligators and night monkeys.

Day 4: Pacaya Samiria

• After breakfast we continue our trip downstream where we will observe pink and gray dolphins. Arrival at the Camotal Guard Post - Lunch. Afterwards we will walk through the jungle for approximately 2 hours to explore the jungle discovering medicinal plants, giant trees and much more.
  
• In the afternoon we will return to the Panteon camp .
• Dinner

Day 5: Pacaya Samiria

• After breakfast we will begin the return to the Poza Gloria camp where we will spend the fourth night. The guide will narrate some of the stories and myths of the jungle.
• Lunch
• After lunch we will fish for piranhas
  

Day 6: Pacaya Samiria / Lagoons

• After breakfast we will return to the Santa Rosa de Tibilo checkpoint and then we will arrive at the Lagunas District where our services will end.
• Arrival time to Lagunas: 3/4:00pm.
• Stay in Lagunas.

Day 07: Lagoons / Yurimaguas / Tarapoto

• Departure from Lagunas to Yurimaguas at 5:00 am by speedboat for 3:30 hours.
• Arriving to Yurimaguas.
• Taking the car to the city of Tarapoto.
• Lunch in Tarapoto.
• End of the experience.
